Please join us for a stakeholder meeting to present and discuss the initial research findings of the ‘Everyday Decisions: Interrogating the interface between legal capacity and mental capacity’ project, run by Professor Rosie Harding and Dr Ezgi Tascioglu and funded by the British Academy. The meeting will be held from 12.30-4pm on Friday 29th September 2017 at the University of Birmingham. Refreshments will be provided.
The ‘Everyday Decisions’ project addresses how people with intellectual disabilities make everyday decisions in their lives and how these decisions are supported by others. Over the last few months, the research team have interviewed people with a range of learning disabilities, acquired brain injuries and other cognitive impairments, as well as people with experience of working with and supporting people with disabilities. At the workshop we will present the initial findings from the research project and explore possible avenues for future research and collaboration to better support intellectually disabled people in their everyday decision-making.
